Venus Conjunct Mars in Depth
How often it happens and why that matters
Venus and Mars conjoin roughly every two years, so this aspect is far less common than Sun-Venus contacts but not rare. When it happens, attraction and pursuit become the same function. You do not experience wanting someone and then deciding to approach. Desire arrives already in motion.
Orb is usually held to six or seven degrees. Check the sign, because it changes the flavor more than with most pairs. In Taurus or Libra, Venus is at home and tends to lead. In Aries or Scorpio, Mars is at home and tends to lead. The same conjunction reads as sensual patience in one chart and blunt pursuit in another.
Attraction as a single event
Most people have a gap between finding someone appealing and doing something about it, and that gap is where discrimination lives. You largely lack it. That makes you decisive and charming and also means your judgment about people is formed after you are already involved rather than before.
The pattern that follows is predictable. Fast starts, high heat, and a recurring discovery around week six that you do not actually like this person very much. Nothing about that is a flaw in your character. It is a sequencing problem, and it responds to an artificial rule such as no major commitments in the first two months.
Beyond romance
This is a creative aspect as much as a relational one. Venus supplies aesthetic judgment, Mars supplies the willingness to make a mark, and fused they produce people who can actually finish creative work rather than admire it. Painters, chefs, performers, and designers with this conjunction tend to work fast and revise little, which is a strength in some fields and a liability in others.
It also tends to make you unusually comfortable with the fact that you want things. Many people are faintly embarrassed by desire. You are not, and that ease reads as confidence. Watch for impatience with slowness in others, though. Because desire and action are one event for you, someone who needs weeks to warm up can read as uninterested when they are simply built differently. A lot of good matches get discarded in week two for this reason alone.
Timing and maturation
By transit, Venus and Mars conjoin in the sky every two years or so, and the transiting pair crossing your natal Venus or Mars gives a few days of noticeably increased appetite for company, spending, and starting things. Short and pleasant, rarely consequential unless you make it so.
Across a life, the aspect changes less than most. What matures is selection. At twenty five it says yes to nearly everything appealing. At fifty, in someone who has paid attention, it says yes rarely and then completely, which is a far more powerful use of the same wiring.
